An accomplished educator, Kimberly L. Winters brings nearly a decade of experience to her work in the Virginia school system. She has led numerous pedagogic projects during her career, including guiding the design of lesson plans and curricula for diverse student groups and spearheading intervention plans to close the achievement gap and improve student behavior. Kimberly L. Winters additionally supports students through coaching school sports teams and serving as a sponsor of student government.
Kimberly L. Winters graduated magna cum laude with a master’s degree in education from James Madison University, where she previously earned her bachelor’s degree in English. She holds certification in multiple field-specific areas, including project-based learning, the One to the World initiative, the reading and writing workshop model, and Advanced Placement language and composition. Ms. Winters also has led workshops, mentoring sessions, and professional training groups for her peers.
Outside of her professional life, Kimberly L. Winters pursues hobbies such as cooking, archery, and photography. An avid reader, she likes books across a wide range of genres but particularly enjoys dystopian novels. She has traveled extensively both in the United States and abroad and hopes to visit Europe in the near future.
